What’s that? You missed a Clearance Sale? You’ve got options.

  • Look for the Bargain Basket in the Shop. Yarn is $2 per 50g/1.75oz unit unless marked otherwise.

  • Take a look at the online store in the Discontinued section. Thousands of skeins will be added bit-by-bit.

Yes! You CAN beat the traffic AND get the yarn you need. Put down the car keys and pick up the phone! Yarn Basket offers shipping with discounted rates for USPS and UPS. Just call in your order and have it shipped to your home. Easy-peasy.

Online Shopping is Available!

Whoa, Nellie! as Bozo the Clown used to say. Yarn Basket has caught up with the 21st century and now offers online shopping with USPS Ground Advantage shipping. Please continue to be patient as we add inventory to the website. Check out the Symfonie Hand-Dyed yarns that are a new addition to the Shop. Also, discontinued yarns are being added with color and dye lot information.

Pattern Book Library

The Yarn Basket Studio has an in-house library with a couple hundred pattern books for knit, crochet, felting, and cross stitch. Liz has an app to keep track of the books. So, you can borrow a book to use at home if you wish. You also have the option of making a photocopy of the pattern if the book is out of print.

Buttons Are Back!

ANOTHER UPDATE: As I continue to unpack the previous owner’s inventory, I continue to be surprised. The Shop has dozens of fused glass shank buttons created by artist Bonnie Maresh. They are in a glass display case in the front of the Shop.

There are hundreds of buttons and clasps on display in the Shop. There’s also a size chart to help you go from millimeters to inches. Most of the buttons are from Dill Buttons. You buy only as many as you need. These are from the previous owner’s inventory, and the prices are pre-pandemic. That means you get high quality at a lower price.

New Arrivals

From a farm in Rhode Island, we have a limited amount of sport weight Polwarth in 375 yard hanks. There are three natural colors available. Polwarth and Merino sheep are close genetically. Therefore, Polwarth wool is as soft as Merino. Liz sourced this yarn at the New England Fiber Festival.

Cotton Sox and Cotton Sox Splash from Cascade are in the shop. This is the non-wool sock yarn alternative that customers have requested. Also from this manufacturer is Cascade 220, which has an extensive color palette.

For winter warmth, we have limited amounts of the following new yarns:

Laines du Nord Alpaca Color: extra bulky

and Fashion Mohair: medium weight with a free hat pattern

OnLine Shaba: bulky multi-color wool

Look for new colors in the Plymouth Encore Worsted Colorspun and Hot Cakes.

Berroco Trunk Show Is Here!

The Fall/Winter ‘24 trunk show from Berroco has arrived. Knitted and crocheted items will be on display starting Nov. 7.

A welcoming place

The Yarn Basket is a place for knitters and crocheters of all ages and abilities to be their creative selves.

In the newly renovated Shop, browse our yarn collection. Next door in the Studio, relax with a cup of tea while you work on your current project or browse the pattern book library for inspiration.

All are welcome!
